# License & Model Terms

Edge0's code, models, and third-party components are each subject to their own licenses. This page is a summary; the specific rights and obligations are governed by the licenses and notices shipped with the corresponding version.

## Edge0 code

Edge0's own code is under the **Apache License 2.0**. You may use, modify, and distribute the code, including for commercial purposes, provided you comply with the license conditions.

* [Edge0 LICENSE](https://github.com/Edge0-AI/Edge0/blob/40a8c510c8378d08cce4a32d89adb033429edb84/LICENSE)
* [Edge0 NOTICE](https://github.com/Edge0-AI/Edge0/blob/40a8c510c8378d08cce4a32d89adb033429edb84/NOTICE)

Third-party code included in the repository remains subject to its own licenses.

## Model licenses

| Model | License stated on the Edge0 model card | Base model and its public license |
| - | - | - |
| `Edge0-8B-A1B-preview` | Apache-2.0 | `inclusionAI/Ling-3.0-tiny-base`: MIT |
| `Edge0-35B-A3B-preview` | Apache-2.0 | `Qwen/Qwen3.6-35B-A3B`: Apache-2.0 |

* [Qwen3.6-35B-A3B base license](https://huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.6-35B-A3B/blob/main/LICENSE)

When using a model, keep the model card, license, and required notices that correspond to the version you use. The model's terms are governed by its model card and accompanying files.

## Commercial use

Apache-2.0 permits commercial use, modification, and distribution. If you redistribute the code or models, comply with the applicable license conditions, including the modification and notice requirements described below. The applicable licenses provide the controlling warranty and liability terms.

## Modification and redistribution

When distributing Edge0 or a derivative based on it, handle at least the following under the applicable licenses:

1. Provide recipients with a copy of the applicable license.
2. Ensure that modified files carry prominent notices stating that you changed them.
3. Retain the applicable copyright, patent, trademark, and attribution notices from the source form.
4. If the original distribution included a NOTICE, keep the applicable notice content as the license requires.
5. For bundled third-party components, meet each one's license requirements; MIT-licensed material requires keeping the applicable copyright and license notice.

When converting a model to GGUF, adjusting the iOS file layout, or bundling it with the app, you must still comply with the original model's terms and attribution requirements.

## Third-party components

Edge0's platforms use components such as MLX, llama.cpp, Rust / JavaScript dependencies, Android dependencies, and Swift packages. The notices for each platform are available at:

* [Root NOTICE](https://github.com/Edge0-AI/Edge0/blob/40a8c510c8378d08cce4a32d89adb033429edb84/NOTICE)
* [macOS NOTICE](https://github.com/Edge0-AI/Edge0/blob/40a8c510c8378d08cce4a32d89adb033429edb84/macos/NOTICE)
* [Windows NOTICE](https://github.com/Edge0-AI/Edge0/blob/40a8c510c8378d08cce4a32d89adb033429edb84/windows/NOTICE)
* [Android NOTICE](https://github.com/Edge0-AI/Edge0/blob/40a8c510c8378d08cce4a32d89adb033429edb84/android/NOTICE)

These notices are not a complete list of all dependencies. When distributing, also keep the licenses that ship with the dependencies you use.

## Name, trademarks, and warranty

Apache-2.0 does not grant trademark or brand rights. You may truthfully state the origin of the software, but you should not use the Edge0 name to imply official endorsement.

Except as required by applicable law or agreed in writing, software under Apache-2.0 is provided "as is"; the related warranty and liability limitations are governed by the text of the license.
